Odyssey
I've mostly been revising novel chapters (based on critiques and based on what I am learning in class) and revising my story, For the Love of Trees, for which I will have a private critique with Laurie Marks on Friday. But I've still been kicking around my Jewel story, doing research, just not sure where to go with it. Then today I said to myself, DUH! It needs a plot! Not that I didn't have one at all, but I've been writing more from a concept, an idea, and though the character has a conflict that gets resolved (maybe with a twist), I just haven't envisioned it in enough detail for it to be a plot yet. I suppose those journal entries working on plot are doing me some good after all.I love the people here, love the workshopping, lectures, pretty much everything, but in the absence of cats or husband, I am finding myself strangely thankful for my stuffed octopus. If I moosh his face the right way, he looks almost thoughtful.
