Senator makes a funny!

I was listening to the Diane Rehm Show on my way back from the gym. The guest host was talking to a senator from South Carolina, Jim DeMint. When asked point blank how homosexuality negatively affected his life, the senator replied that paying for HIV/AIDS treatment was a huge cost to society. He asserted that 50% of all sexually transmitted diseases are due to homosexuality. Ok, let's humor him for a moment and assume he's correct. So the other 50% comes from...heterosexuality! So following his own logic, I suppose he'll want to ban that too.
