Feeling old

Well, I got on Facebook at the urging of some folks. One of the first things that happens upon signing up and putting in your school information is a page showing people who graduated the same year that you can add to your friends list. "Great," I thought, "I can catch up with some of those old friends from high school, college, and grad school." The lists were very small. I found a grand total of five people to add to my friends list. This was not wasted, as I did reconnect with a couple of people I'd lost touch with. My younger friends tell me that everybody is on Facebook; I begin to suspect this does not apply to my generation. The novel edit is moving along, though I'm a little behind schedule if the extended novel submission group is a "go" at TNEO this summer. I'd be submitting up to 45,000 words total for that, which is just a little less than half of the novel at its current word count. I've got the words to submit--that isn't a problem. But about 30,000 of the words were written pre-Odyssey and have not been edited, rewritten, or thrown out yet, so I would not be doing anyone a favor by inflicting these words upon them. Well, nothing like deadlines to make me get off my butt and edit!
