Sundry things

I've been pretty busy writing and critiquing, but I've still managed to get just a wee bit behind schedule. It's ok, I left time to catch up.My 17-year-old cat, Athena, has been sick with a kidney infection and spent most of the past two days at the vet's getting iv antibiotics and fluids. She has to go back again tomorrow. She's much better and feeling pretty feisty. When I went to pick her up, the vet tech asked, "is she always so talkative?" Yes, Athena has a few words to say. Sometimes right in my ear at 4:00 in the morning. She's a teddy bear, though, and I'm really glad she's recovering well. I knew something was wrong when on Tuesday, she wouldn't even get out of bed, and by the middle of her day, had lost control of her bladder on the bed. Thank goodness that didn't happen again as we had to machine wash a down comforter that's really supposed to be dry cleaned.I'm trying to lose a few pounds prior to our trip to Hawaii later this month. Stephan commented that I look fine to him, and he hasn't really noticed the weight I've gained."Well," I replied, "my shape hasn't really changed, there's just more of it."For some reason he found this very funny and thought it was a great line I should use again, so there you are.We went to see Ironman, which was pretty much all a fun superhero movie should be, with a likable asshole as a protagonist, lots of things going boom, and the bad guys a Big Evil Corporation. The character Pepper Potts seriously needs to get a life, though.
