The Dark (K)night

From all the hype, I'm probably in the minority of those who hated the movie. I enjoyed the acting, but the plot went on way too long with one complication after another that ended up feeling very episodic.This is why, my editor brain tells me, episodic plots are not good things. You mess with your readers/viewers expectations or keep stringing them along and they become very grumpy or just fatigued by one twist too many. Aside from a couple of interesting reversals, I got more tired of this movie as it went on. It makes me want to rewatch the 1989 movie just to wash the sight of this one off my eyeballs. I'm sure I'd like it more if I was an emo teenage boy.
