Sick cat

Athena went to the Vet today, for her post-treatment checkup. She had the radioactive iodine injection on November 10, which was supposed to be the cure-all for her thyroid condition. Well, it may have helped that, but I'm not sure her kidneys appreciated the change. She vomits periodically, and did so several times early this morning, then refused to eat any of the about 6 different cans of cat food I offered her. The Vet and I suspect kidney disease, which can be masked by a thyroid condition, but the bloodwork won't be back for a couple of days. She's lost half a pound since her last exam, and is now only 7 pounds 10 ounces. We've been trying everything we know to get her to eat, and today I even tried a couple weird things the Vet suggested, like tofu in broth and creamed corn. She wouldn't even taste either one. She had fluids at the Vet and an anti-nausea injection, so my instructions were to just get as many calories in her today as possible.Yes, she's a 17 year old cat and she's had a good life. But I am not ready to lose her yet. She doesn't seem to be in any pain and purrs and enjoys a good cuddle. She acts like she really wants to eat, just not whatever I put in her bowl. *sigh*
