The opera was lots of fun, except for the full body make-up! Here is a link to a picture of me in costume, make-up and wig: Ellen in The Pearl FishersWhile the women's chorus was putting on our make-up one night, someone said, "This is a great female bonding experience!"To which I replied, "Sure, you haven't lived till you've stood around in your underwear with a bunch of other women painting yourselves brown!"I attended a day-long writer's conference on Saturday, during which I didn't really learn anything I didn't already know, but it was great to chat with other writers and listen to poets read from their work. I have been lazy about editing the last chapter of my novel, but one of the writers said that procrastination was actually a good thing because it gave you time to think and process things (I am paraphrasing here - she said it much better).I sang in a faculty recital last night at Broad Ripple High School, where I teach in the music magnet.Other than teaching a lot and procrastinating, I am really enjoying the fall weather!
