New toys!
Yesterday I went shopping and got a Logitech portable speaker system for the iPod Stephan gave me. I love it! I wanted something loud enough that I could put in some accompaniment tracks to music and sing along without straining to hear it,and I know some of the smaller/cheaper speakers don't put out much sound. Well, this isn't as good as the larger and more expensive Bose system, but it really does the trick, is small, and allows me to listen to music in my study without using my computer or going down to the living room for a cd (gosh I sound terribly lazy!).I also went to Office Depot and got an adjustable keyboard shelf because once I returned from Odyssey, I realized that the very low (and getting lower) built-in drawer of my desk was probably responsible in part for some of my upper back problems. I have been working since then with the keyboard directly on the desk which I don't like. I bought the least expensive model for around $80 after having somebody in a store for "healthy back products" try to sell me a very expensive, top of the line one. He almost sold me - even promised to come to my house and take measurements before placing the order, then install it for free. Then he never called me back or returned my call. Hmm.Anyway, Stephan and I installed the Office Depot one yesterday and it worked quite well, except that the non-adjustable mouse pad was a good inch or two below the keyboard. After using it for a while last night, I was beginning to feel like quasimodo. I checked the diagram on the box - yes - they did show it that way. Well, this morning I removed it and connected the keyboard to what was supposed to be the mouse pad end of the arm and vice versa, and it is level with the keyboard. Yay! So either they got it wrong in the picture and directions or have an idea that people have a longer arm or lower shoulder on the which ever side they use the mouse.I am very happy with both new toys. Today Stephan and I are going to the State Fair.
